New music...

Happy Friday!!!

Am I the last person to see this video? Please tell me I'm not! I'm usually the one who discovers awesome music related things such as this and it will break my heart if I find out I've failed.

Either way, you have to watch this...just amazing. And it's perfect since SXSW kicked off today. I'm so excited for Dave's show next Friday and we can't wait to head downtown and hear some new music this week.

Homemade Whole Wheat Crackers Recipe.

As soon as I saw a few knockoff recipes of wheat thins on Pinterest, I knew I had to try my own version! Dave and I love crackers as a snack with a little hummus, cheese, or both...and you all know I love to make my own version of things so I know exactly what is going into it.

I found this recipe and made it my own...here's what I did...

- 1 c and 1 tbsp whole wheat flour
-3/4 tsp garlic salt
-1 1/2 tbsp Grade A honey
-1/4 tsp paprika
-4 tbsp unsalted butter, left out to soften for a few
-1/4 c water
-1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 400. Put all ingredients in a food processor and grind until it is in a big doughy ball. Then push it down a bit and grind for a second or two more.

Place dough on a lightly floured baking sheet. Roll out until you get your desired thickness. We like our crackers a little thicker (Kashi Whole Grain Crackers are our favorites) so that's how I did mine.

Cut into little squares. I started out with a knife and soon realized that wasn't working out for me, so I switched to a pizza cutter...much better!

Bake for 10 minutes (if you cut them thick like mine, otherwise 5 should be good) ...I let mine cool and then popped them in the toaster oven on light to make them a little crispier.

Top with you're favorite cracker topping and enjoy!

**Update: I might try these with less (or no) honey next time, Dave thought they were a little too sweet and they didn't stay crunchy.

Evenings...

Evenings are my favorite time. Most nights we're at home just the two of us and it's so peaceful. We usually take a break to cuddle on the couch with a favorite show or two. Some of the best nights are when we retreat to the bedroom early, I grab a book and Dave grabs his guitar...

No better way I can think of to end a night than that. Just curled up under the blankets with a good book and my sweetness strumming his guitar.

Austin Cake Ball...

This past weekend I got to hang out with two of my favorite blog girls Ruthie and Jenni. I met Ruthie the first time Dave and I came down to Austin in November, but this was my first time meeting Jenni in "real life" and I was so excited to meet her after reading her blog for months...

We met at Austin Cake Ball in Domain (a fun little outdoor shopping area). I'd never been and I can't wait to go back and check out all the shops...although I'll just be window shopping for now :)

The best part about it was getting to hang out with the girls. I knew I already loved Ruthie as a friend and I had a feeling I would really enjoy getting to know Jenni too...and I was so right! Not only did we have a lot in common (which I already figured), but she is so sweet with such a warm personality I'm excited to get to know her better.

Salted Caramel Cake Ball...not exactly a salted caramel frapp, but still pretty dang good.

It was great hanging out with these two and I can't wait for more blogger dates in the future! Make sure to go check out their blogs if you haven't already, you'll love them, promise.
