What I Wore: Potbelly's Style

Usually for Dave's Friday shows at Potbelly's I try to dress cute but casual, since it is a sandwich place. That's perfect since it's Friday afternoon in the middle of this very hot summer, it's nice to be able to throw on some shorts and a tank and call it a day...

Ring: c/o Call of Earth // Bag: JoTotes // Tank and cardi: Old Navy (forever ago)

I finally got a pic of the Mediterranean Sandwich I was telling you all about. So good. After that first show Dave's been getting it too...what can I say, I know my food.

The ring shown above from Call of Earth has quickly become a favorite. I love that it's not too flashy, but it can dress up a casual outfit. It's handwoven and so gorgeous. Sometimes I find myself staring at it trying to figure out how in the world she put that thing together. It's seamless and I love the way it sparkles in the sun.

Gotta have you...

For this "Wordless Wednesday" I leave you with some of the lyrics from one of my favorite songs by the Weepies...they already said what I wanted to say today...

IMG_9870

"Gray, quiet and tired and mean
Picking at a worried seam
I try to make you mad at me over the phone.
Red, eyes and fire and signs
I'm taken by a nursery rhyme
I want to make a ray of sunshine and never leave home.

No amount of coffee, no amount of crying
No amount of whiskey, no amount of wine
No, no, no, no, no, nothing else will do
I've gotta have you, I've gotta have you."

Relay for Life.

Last Friday Dave had the opportunity to play at the Relay for Life here in town and he provided music for those walking and running to raise money for cancer research. This is something that's near and dear to both of our hearts and it was so wonderful that Dave was able to do this.

It was so inspiring to watch the men and women with "survivor" on their shirts running and walking around the track all night. One older man ran the whole time, what a trooper. Definitely motivating that's for sure. It was also great to see all the middle school and high school kids out there running and walking for the cause!

Everyone really enjoyed Dave's music and we brought a TON of albums for people and they did not last long at all...
