"And even though we ain't got money,
I'm so in love with you, honey,
And everything will bring a chain of love.
And in the morning, when I rise,
You bring a tear of joy to my eyes
And tell me everything is gonna be alright."
~Kenny Loggins

I know you all have heard this song before, but I just had to post the lyrics to the chorus. Last night Dave was preparing for his show at the Artichoke and he started playing this song. Now, he sings/plays this song at home all the time and it's always been one of my favorites, but last night it really hit me. I teared up a little when he got to this part as I was listening from the bathroom where I was getting ready...
...I just feel so blessed. Every morning I thank God for this amazing man who loves and adores me. And yes, even though we don't have money, we have each other and that is what is important. Everything else is just icing on the cake. So while we don't have every thing we want, we have everything we NEED (and yes, some of the things we want too.)
This month things have been tight, but we make it work. It's worth it to us to give up some things we may think we want now in order to put Dave on the right track for his music career. To me, he's too talented and the music is too special to not share it with the world.
Today I stumbled upon this quote by Joseph Campbell, "You must give up the life you had planned in order to have the life that is waiting for you." Amazing. And exactly what I needed to hear. I know that this life has wonderful things in store for Dave and I that I can't even begin to imagine. And I can't wait to see what they are! Even if it means that we end up driving/living in one of these for awhile...
...hehe, no matter what I know we'll be just fine. Love you all and am so thankful for such good people that support my husband's music. You guys are the best. ~Mal
PS~ for those of you who haven't heard Dave's music here you go...

ReplyDeleteMal, you remind me of how I felt about my late hubby, Bobby. We were/I am a huge Kenny Loggins fan. Seen him in concert more times than I can tell you. Met him a few times as well. Awesome guy! You and Dave are now my role models of why relationships can and do work as far as my adult kids are concerned. You guys just work! You are awesome together and you sure are blessed. I feel blessed for knowing you guys! You're good people!
