Also, these opportunities don't come without their cost. You have to spend money to make money, right? Well we are definitely still in the spend money side of things. While the album has been selling and things like that, we won't see money from iTunes for awhile still. Plus, the money from the television shows won't be coming until at least next spring. But, I've said it before and I'll say it again...Dave and I know that money is not what is important in life. We feel like we are blessed beyond measure to have found one another and that we're able to be together every day. That's what matters most in life to us.
...but that doesn't mean that some days aren't rough. Everyone has their moments. Some days you just wake up with the weight of the world on your shoulders and you feel like all of the hard work you've been doing doesn't matter. And boy do we work hard. Some nights we have to make ourselves step away from the computer (work) and go to bed because it's late. But there is always something more you could be doing. To me it's worth it if it helps one more person hear Dave's music.
This just shows that he's so lucky to have you in his life, Mallorie :) You're so supportive and loving of both him and his passion. Yeah, maybe you'll be on a ramen noodles and spaghetti kinda diet for a while, but all your hard work will eventually pay off and you'll be on a steak & caviar diet before ya know it ;) I have SO much respect for you guys. You don't expect things to be handed to you on a silver platter, but instead you work your butts off knowing deep in your heart that it'll all pay off in the end. You got this.
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks so much Chelsea! I know, I keep telling him that I'm ok with ramen noodles if it comes down to that :) You really made my day, I hope you know that. It's comments like this that keep me blogging.
ReplyDeleteI think this is amazing and Chelsea couldn't have said it better! I love how supportive y'all are to each other and the hard work WILL pay off in the future!! I also have a lot of respect for y'all and I honestly love Dave's music and so does my boyfrannn so we'll continue to spread it around ATX too :-) can't wait til he plays here!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an encouraging post. I love that such a huge part of your love story is your support for one another in following such a big dream!

Hope you're having a great day... you should stop by my blog today, I passed along a blog award to you :)
ReplyDeleteI know that you guys work your butts off! Make sure that you take time for yourselves and take care of each other! I'm just so happy to be part of this whole process - seeing you two grow as a couple and seeing Dave's music being brought to more and more people. I hope and pray that the good days outweigh the tough ones by far for you both!
ReplyDeleteI wish you two the best as you pursue this for him. My hubby had to put aside for a few years when we got married and had babies, but now we're starting to feel like it is time for him to start performing again.
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith! You are such a big help in getting the music out there, we love having you along for the ride :) And the good days definitely outweigh the bad ones!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) Let me know if you'd like to order an album!
