A little help...

So I'm pretty dang excited about this month. It's starting off with a bang since we're spending the first week of the month here at the lake. It's the perfect place to unwind. And then, for the last weekend of the month my Dad is taking my brother and I (Dave couldn't go because of scheduling conflicts) to VEGAS to celebrate my brothers 21st birthday! So. much. fun!

But here's where I need your help! The last time I went to Vegas I was 21, which I only realized the other day when thinking about this trip was five years ago. What?! No idea how that happened. But anyways, the last time I went to Vegas was for my bff's 21st birthday and her Mom took her and a few of her friends as a surprise. It was such a blast.

Since it's been awhile and her Mom planned everything last time (and for a group of girls), we need help on the best places to go, do, etc. We already have a hotel booked and are going to Blue Man Group on Friday night, but that's it! We would appreciate any tips or ideas you guys have for us, so let us know!

Vegas Tips // Home is with You
The last time I was in Vegas.

Oh and as far as the picture on the right, anyone remember this video? Probably the funniest thing I've ever seen to date. I was channeling Pearl in that pic...don't ask.

  1. I was just in Vegas and I have lots of recs! Food- Serendipity in front of Caesars, Mesa Grill inside Caesars, BLT Burger inside the Mirage, Diablo's on the strip. As for shows, I saw Peep Show 3 years ago and LOVED it. The Bodies exhibit is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it (I think it's inside Luxor). Have fun!

Live music kareoki and great drinks in the bar inside treasure island.
We also love the piano bar inside harrahs :)

  3. How funny! I'm planning a trip there too. I've been there, but three years ago, so I'm not so sure either.

I can only think of the "touristy" things to do... Gondola ride at the Venetian, go to the top of Stratosphere (and in the roller-coaster, if you're adventurous), go to the top of the Eiffel tower, water show at the Bellagio...

But you probably know all that already! :(

  4. I loved the beetles LOVE show at the Mirage! Also if you're looking for a fancy dinner one night, you should try Emeril's restaurant in MGM! SO freakin good!

  6. Hey!

Man, I stink for not getting back to you sooner! You are here not I see from IG photos and I would love to meet up for coffee or join you if you decide to do one of the fun things on my list. Here goes:

-Jump off of the Stratosphere! So.much.fun! & make sure to snap a photo right before you jump off, I forgot to, but it was an incredible view!

    - Freemont Freemont Freemont! If you want to really get a taste of Vegas I highly suggest downtown area. There are great little bars (my seester is a singing bartender at Dont Tell Mamas' Piano bar). There is am Amazing Thai food place right next to Dont tell mamas open everyday but Sundays that you've got to try. You can Zipline down Freemont street, make sure to do this at night when the lights are phenomenal!

    - Of course take photos in front of the LV sign just a mile or so past Mandalay Bay hotel (South end of strip).

    - Two best Cirque shows I recommend are LOVE and Zumanity. You might not want to see Zumanity with your brother and dad though, its a very sexual show. But LOVE is great for the whole family, I used to work at the Mirage and have seen LOVE about a dozen times. It never gets old!

    - Shark Reef (Mandalay) and Secret Garden (Mirage) are great if you all are animal lovers. I think the Secret Garden has baby dolphins right now too. Woo hoo babies!

    - If you want great blog photos, taking a trip to the Neon Boneyard is always fun for photo adventures!

    - Bodies at the Luxor is trippy and with you being a health freak this sounds like something you would really enjoy! You'll never look at your body the same again!

    - The NYNY rollercoaster is aweeeesome. Ride it at least once! or twice.

    - I don't know how long you will be here but if you want to do 'non-strip' things, the weather is supposed to be glorious tomorrow and would make for a great hike up to the new bridge at Hoover Dam. Its about a 30-40 minute drive, but you can stroll through all of the cute boutique shops in Boulder City and there is an awesome burger joint (cant think of the name but they have a blue logo and are in the shopping center directly kitty corner from the 'Welcome to boulder city' sign) with the best veggie burgers! Always a nice treat after coming back from the dam or the lake out there.

Email me at arussell143@yahoo.com if you want to get together or you have any questions!

    Have fun!
